C-RAM OCONUS Regional Field Engineer /WAVES SME. This individual must possess a broad background in general installation requirements and techniques, Radio Frequency (RF) requirements and performance. Responsible for maintaining WAVES systems at several Forward Operating Bases (FOBs) in Afghanistan. WAVES systems will be specifically tailored to the unique requirements, location and idiosyncrasies of each Forward Operating Base (FOB). Responsible for conducting informal site survey and fielding activities in a wartime theater for additional WAVES assets at the direction of C-RAM OEF Program Manager. The site survey will collect sufficient data that will enable a team of designers, engineers, to determine the proper amount materials needed to properly install fully operational WAVES systems. WAVES is a COTS product fielded to military units in Afghanistan and nearby countries.
Selected candidate will be responsible for the following: the day-to-day maintenance, trouble-shooting and repair of the entire C-RAM WAVES system at each FOB. Responsible to ensure unit operators understand and apply the various functions of the system to include maintenance and operator troubleshooting techniques. Will provide over-the-shoulder/remedial training to operators as required. Perform data analysis of each system and sub-system to ensure that systems and hardware are operational, fully functional and provide a measure of the overall operational status of installed systems. Provide "redlined" drawing packages to the Northrop Grumman Engineering Staff to support development of As-built drawings when additional WAVES assets are added to existing systems (as required). Has direct responsibility for responding to the following: aiding the unit operators via telephone trouble-shooting, resolving equipment issues via phone, forward deploying to individual FOBs as required to correct issues in person. Coordinating personal transportation request dates for FOB to FOB travel, other miscellaneous support to the Warfighter utilizing the WAVES system. Will directly coordinate all support with the C-RAM OEF Program Manager located in Huntsville, AL.
Basic Qualifications: . 5 Years with Bachelors in Science; 3 Years with Masters; 0 Years with PhD. 9 Years of directly related experience can substitute in lieu of degree. . Requires complete understanding and wide application of technical principle, theories, and concepts in the field. . Ability to provide technical solutions to a wide range of complex difficult problems. Solutions are imaginative, thorough, practicable, and consistent with organization objectives. . Ability to work under only general direction. Independently determines and develops approach to solutions. . Strong management, supervisory, leadership and communication skills . Ability to synchronize multiple schedules - including production, procurement, transportation and installation . Technically proficient in military communications and electronics systems . Willingness to work and support the US military in a war zone/wartime environment . Must have Secret Clearance or be eligible for a Secret Clearance
Preferred Qualifications: . Prior military experience as a mid to senior field grade officer or senior NCO . Prior overseas military or military contractor experience . Familiarity with C-RAM, SNW, FAAD, AMDWS, or military communications systems . Ability to interface with senior staff, both corporate and U.S. Government (DoD) Customers
