Title: Engineer Applications 3 Location: Colorado-Schriever AFB The Distributed Multi-Echelon Training System (DMETS) Mission Engineer is responsible for maintaining, installing and planning the current and future iterations of DMETS. Primary focus will be engineering efforts in support of DMETS. Candidate should have a well rounded knowledge of UNIX and Linux systems, Windows, networking (TCP/IP and UDP Multicast). Duties include aiding team members in troubleshooting, configuration management, architecture and integration in accordance with task order directives. Possess exemplary verbal and written communication skills and is comfortable with briefing customers, peers and senior leadership on current tasks and projects on a regular basis. Work is a fast paced, multi-contractor environment with daily interaction with customers. Additionally, candidate will aid in delivering simulations that provide a daily training opportunity for warfighters by operating the DMETS on IRIX, Solaris, Linux, and Windows. This position must also coordinate a variety of issues to include starting and stopping training events with warfighters ranging from the 49th Missile Defense Battalion to the National Military Command Center. The operator must be proficient enough to make changes to standard scenarios (dynamic capability) using all of the equipment within the DMETS Control Center (DCC). Additionally, coordinate daily activities with DMETS teammates to include personnel operating the Distributed GMD System Trainer (DGST), Embedded Test (ET), and the C2BMC. The candidate must be able to work well within a small team of two to four personnel. DMETS is scheduled to operate 80 hours per week; no one is required to operate more than 40 hours per week. There will be routine weekends required based on the needs of warfighter and the availability of DMETS support equipment. Basic Qualifications: Proficient in System Administration, configuration, and operations. Ability to operate IRIX, Solaris, Linux, and Windows based systems is a must. Aptitude for rapidly learning various operating systems and commands. Must be able to adapt to short term deadlines and work well under pressure. Excellent interpersonal and written communication/presentation skills. Must have an interim DOD clearance and ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of BMDS. Previous experience in an operations center. Previous experience working with DE-SIM, TIU, C2BMC, ET, GFC and MDST or other real-time simulations. Familiarity with DIS, TCP, UDP, and Multicast. Familiarity with VMF, TADIL-J, S-TADIL J, IBS, ADSI, CNIP and other Tactical Data Links.
