AutoReqId 37000BR Function Engineering Division Electrical Engineering Services & Systems External Job Title Energy Team Leader - Raleigh, NC Job Description Eaton Corporation has an opening for an Energy Team Leader within the Energy Solutions Group in Raleigh, NC.
This position will lead energy engineers and manage technical projects including energy audits, retro-commissioning and analysis, energy modeling, assessments of existing facilities, as well as lead or contribute to sustainable design, and LEED projects. Essential functions of the position include:
· Identify and evaluate energy efficiency and energy conservation measures through energy audits and plan / specification review (architectural, mechanical, electrical) using spreadsheet analysis and energy modeling tools (e.g., eQUEST).
· Manage Retro-Commissioning Projects, functional teams, client expectations and project finances to meet established goals and metrics.
· Provide and maintain a high level of organization to improve technical services regarding energy efficiency and sustainable design, in-house project management, field work, and value delivered to clients.
· Serve as a resource to other engineers on topics including HVAC configuration and performance, energy modeling, data logging, controls and energy management control systems, lighting and daylighting design, sustainable design and LEED certification, measurement and verification (M&V), and energy auditing. Commissioning, retro-commissioning, and renewable energy (solar thermal, photovoltaic) expertise a plus.
· Meet with both technical and non-technical clients. Lead discussions regarding energy efficiency or sustainable design solutions in whole building and individual building system (mechanical, electrical, controls) context.
· Assure an effective and skilled staff through recruiting, assessment of talent, training & development, goal setting, communications, performance appraisal, and conformance to applicable company policies. Provide leadership and direction to ensure professional growth for employees and retention.
Please note this position does not include relocation. Only candidates within the immediate geographic area will be considered. Job Qualifications/Educational Requirements QUALIFICATIONS:
Ø Bachelors of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or suitable equivalent combination of certification, education and experience
Ø At least 7 years experience in energy engineering, analysis, and project management. Preferred candidate will have experience managing other engineers and direct reports
Ø Excellent oral communication and writing skills
Ø Professional Engineer License; CEM, LEED AP, other accreditations
Ø Strong skills in Microsoft Windows and Office (spreadsheet data entry, formulas, and data manipulation); familiarity with other engineering tools such as AutoCAD, Visio, VisualDOE, Energy PLUS, eQUEST, etc.
Ø Ability to survey buildings and facilities and identify energy saving opportunities, retro-fits, controls systems upgrades,
Ø HVAC or day lighting design experience, construction or construction management, building engineer or utility engineering, and renewable energy (solar thermal, photovoltaic) experience
Ø Demonstrated ability and experience in managing and scheduling technical projects in their entirety including jobsite observations and data collection, field testing and/or sub-metering, analysis
Ø Manage and coordinate Energy Implementation projects in entirety, including scheduling, running team meetings, project documentation for both construction and design team, and responding to design team requests for information, inclusive of LEED activities.
