Location and Team
KEMA's Sustainable Use Consulting group is seeking an experienced Energy Engineer to expand our current Nashville, TN presence. This individual will be expected to be an immediate contributor to commercial and industrial energy efficiency and demand response program evaluations. The successful candidate will lead field teams, perform advanced data collection and complex analyses, and interface with clients.
Tasks may include • Writing site-specific measurement plans and other technical documents • Managing tasks and/or projects involving engineering or field data collection elements • Analyzing energy performance and reporting the impacts associated with efficiency improvements • Reviewing savings calculations performed by other organizations • Performing and training personnel to perform on-site inspections and efficiency assessments • Designing energy analyses using advanced spreadsheets and building simulation software • Verifying installation, operations, and performance characteristics of energy-efficient equipment • Installing measurement equipment and analyzing measured data, including lighting loggers, power recorders, and other data acquisitions systems • Leading small teams to collectively complete tasks on time and on budget • Presenting the methodology and results of the evaluation through written reports
What we're asking
Required Skills and Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering • Related B.S. degrees considered when paired with relevant experience, coursework, or specialization • Ability to perform comprehensive savings analyses of energy efficiency measures • 4 years work experience in energy research or program evaluation • Demonstrated knowledge of building science, HVAC, electrical, and other industrial systems • An organized, detail-oriented approach and the ability to work independently • High proficiency with Microsoft Windows, Word, and Excel • A positive, team-oriented attitude • Ability to write technical documents in English for general audiences • Ability to satisfactorily pass a background investigation and drug screen • Ability and willingness to travel about 25% of the time to customer sites as required • Valid driver's license and vehicle. Mileage will be reimbursed.
Preferred Qualifications
• Building simulation experience with eQUEST, DOE-2, Trane TRACE, and EnergyPlus • Experience with IPMVP, California Evaluation Protocols, or other state Technical Reference Manuals very favorable.
