Electronics Engineering Technician
Electronics Technician Summary To design, develop, test and validate communications product electronics circuits (including RF) and systems. Major Duties: 1. Build and test prototype circuit boards for evaluation 2. Validate electrical designs and components 3. Assist in the creation of product specifications 4. Assist in troubleshooting packaging for environmental conformance 5. Interface with external laboratories for FCC and EMI conformance testing 6. Interface with vendors to develop first article parts sets 7. Assist in product BOM development 8. Assist in release to production or transfer documentation to CM 9. Design and build production test fixtures. Essential Requirements: Minimum 2 year technical degree or equivalent 5+ years relevant experience Ability to demonstrate effective use of laboratory test equipment including spectrum analyzers, signal generators, network analyzers, wattmeters, frequency counters, power supplies and environmental chambers. Ability to work from a schematic to build test circuits and breadboards Ability to supervise the development of a printed circuit board Ability to follow detailed test plans, document test results and generate test reports in support of product test and validation efforts. Understanding of component requirements and limits (e.g., voltage, power and thermal ratings) Excellent soldering skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong orientation towards quality, safety, and continuous improvement Established team player qualities Desirable: PADS PCB design experience. Labview or other programming skills for test environment. Knowledge of wireless data communications products Experience with MIL-810-E shock and vibration testing Location: Renton Compensation: DOE benefits 12+month contract This is a contract job.
