Essential Responsibilities * Test, troubleshoot, analyze and correct malfunctions of complex electronics or electro-mechanical products
* Interact with internal and external customers as needed
* Recommend changes in circuitry or components to improve operation and maintenance
* Test downhole and surface equipment systems to engineering and customer specifications
* Be responsible for the testing and repair of electronic circuits, boards and sub-assemblies of downhole and surface equipment in Return Material Authorization (RMA) return repair status with established quality processes, standards and safety regulations
* Create appropriate documentation as needed
* Support all team repair operations, RMA dispositions and NCR dispositions
* Provide customers with timely repair turnaround Qualifications/Requirements * Associate's Degree in Electronics Engineering or Electronics Technology from an accredited college or technical program (or High School Diploma / GED and at least 2 years of experience working as an electronic technician)
* Minimum of 2 years of previous work experience as an electronics technician, ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
* Ability and willingness to travel approximately 20% of the time Additional Eligibility Qualifications GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening. Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen. Desired Characteristics * Ability to follow verbal and written instructions with minimal supervision
* Ability to read and interpret procedure manuals, operating and maintenance instructions and safety rules
* Familiarity with GE Measurement While Drilling (MWD) / LWD is a plus
* Solid familiarity and operation of a personal computer
* Ability to troubleshoot and solve electronic or mechanical problems unassisted where objectives are clearly defined but courses of action must be considered and determined
* Ability to read schematics and board layouts for assemblies, familiarity of electronic components, ability to use test equipment, including oscilloscope and DVM, soldering equipment and hand tools Why join one great company when you can join many?
