Technician Job Description
Associate degree or equivalent from an electronic technical school and a minimum of three years of experience in a production or a product development environment, or continuing enrollment in an accredited four year engineering degree program majoring in a technical discipline.
Knowledge and/or experience in several of the following skill areas:
Product verification and validation testing.
Writing and oral communication skills as to participate in design reviews, technical presentations, technical procedure development, and other aspects of product design documentation and training.
The basic operating principles behind analog and digital electronic circuits and microprocessors.
Understanding of basic mechanical design principles.
The repair, calibration, and testing of electronic circuits and products using tools, such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, volt meters, and data loggers.
Use of personal computers hardware and related application software such as word processors, spreadsheets, and communications program.
Operation, verification, and qualification of sensor technologies.
Prototype and low volume production techniques.
Ability to write software and/or design electronic circuits.
Availability for occasional overnight travel.
Ability to operate hand and power tools.
Ability to lift fifty pounds.
