The Electro/Mechanical Assembler will recognize deficiencies in the appearance of material or procedures and will correct those deficiencies in support of the new build and field returns of intelligence, surveillance, and imagery processing high performance data link systems and products for L-3 Communications - the sixth largest defense contractor in the United States.
The Electro/Mechanical Assembler performs a variety of manufacturing tasks and processes related to data link systems.
* Read and interpret wire tables and diagrams, schematics, blueprints, color codes, and Engineering Change Requests to include Engineering modifications and designs.

Electromechanical experience with circuit cards, harness assembly, wire termination, cable design engineering modifications and tooling.
This position requires a High School Diploma and three (3 ) years of assembly experience in the fabrication of highly complex, proto-type system level mechanical devices, cable completions,
and circuit card soldering on engineering development designs, and rework, modifications. Experience with Bricks, Power Supplies, and LRU's (Lower Replacement Units) is a plus.
* Familiarity with and capable of continuity and resistance testing (C&R).
* Knowledge of special routing and build up/tear down procedures, measurements, and mathematics and basic electrical knowledge.

Understanding of and demonstrated experience with IPC-Workmanship and Acceptability Criteria, IPC 610, IPC 620, J-Std-001.

Ability to solder to two (2) generations of components, terminals, and connectors.
*
Ability to perform in a team environment with good inter-personal skills is necessary with commitment to the highest quality achievable. Experience and knowledge of Microsoft Suite and Internet browsers required.
Special Requirements:
* Due to the nature of our work this position may require the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense security clearance (including COMSEC).
* Must be able to obtain and maintain certifications as required for employment with L-3 Communications as an Electromechanical Assembler.
* Position requires the ability to lift 40 lbs, work under a microscope and various chemicals.
* This position may require overtime, weekend, holiday and/or second shift work and also may be required to rotate shift schedule as work requirements change.
This position may be filled at a higher grade based on the successful applicants skills, education and experience.
