Accountabilities:
* Collaborating and benchmarking leading-edge suppliers and companies on high voltage motor inverters and electric motors. Position could evolve into the development of control algorithms using Matlab models and auto-software tools.
* Coordinate and conduct detailed root cause failure analysis and associated corrective action on these components. Work with suppliers and internal manufacturing plants to implement these solutions.
* Mentor and teach new employees as they come into Mercury
Job Requirements: What you bring to our winning team:
* BSEE with emphasis in electro-mechanical systems and architecture required, Master's degree in engineering field a plus
* 5-8 yrs experience in electro-mechanical engineering or automotive systems engineering
* Experience in high power electronics and electric motors and batteries a plus
* Full life-cycle engine design experience desired using staged-gate process
* Leadership qualities and excellent communication skills a necessity
Electric Motor design and development of:
* New marine application technologies
* Components including DC motors, AC motors, permanent magnet stators and voltage regulators, as it relates to Outboard and Sterndrive marine engines.
