Job Description: Under limited supervision, assists engineers in the design, development and test of new and existing electro-mechanical products. Needs to be able to read engineering documentation such as schematics, assembly drawings and parts lists (bill of materials). Tasks include PC board assembly and rework, parts ordering, board trouble shooting and debug, and assisting engineers with product release into manufacturing.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Build prototype and pre-production SMT and Through-Hole Printed circuit boards and sub assemblies. Assist engineering in developing assembly methods, procedures and release of products. Maintain records of problems to be resolved with prototypes. Build prototype cable assemblies. Perform electrical and mechanical assembly and modifications. Troubleshoot assemblies and systems under the supervision of an engineer. Maintain the lab by ordering parts for projects and general use. Assist in testing the performance of systems and assemblies. Support production in the rework of boards as required. Perform other job related duties as required. Equipment Used: Soldering/desoldering equipment, microscope, DMM, office computer and Microsoft Office software.
REQUIREMENTS: Requires a certificate in solder certification, a minimum of six years related experience with SMT assembly and rework on PCB?s. Must be experienced and be able to build test fixtures from limited documentation. Must be able to read assembly drawings and familiarity with schematics a plus.
