This position is located in Hopewell, VA.
As an Electrical Project Engineer you will be responsible for the preparation and execution of capital projects to provide new assets for all areas of the Hopewell, Virginia manufacturing process. Additionally this candidate will support the Project Engineering staff with E&I issues for all projects and will be an active member of the Project Team throughout the total life of the project. This position will be responsible for the initial project preparation including justification and safety analysis, the detailed design, either directly or through supervision of contract engineers and assuring compliance with codes and Ashland standards. Follow through the detailed design to preparation of bid packages and selection of contractors/vendors to install the new facilities. Responsible for the supervision of construction forces assuring a safe and workable installation. Once construction is completed, this person will be an active member of the team to commission and start-up the new facilities.
Successful candidates will have the following:
* BS or MS in Electrical Engineering.
* A minimum 5 years in Project Electrical Engineering or Project Construction in an industrial or manufacturing environment is preferred.
* Material handling, both dry and liquid, packaging equipment and process automation experience is preferred
* Familiar with Office software tools including: MS Office (Word, Excel, Project, Power Point), Lotus Notes and SAP. This position requires a good working knowledge of AutoCad.
* Excellent demonstrated interpersonal skills
* Excellent demonstrated written, verbal communication skills with the ability to conduct training classes to field personnel
* Results driven and process oriented required
* Skilled in project management process, including cost estimating, organizational skills, leadership qualities, engineering, procurement and construction scheduling, planning and execution of commissioning plans
* Must have experience with heavy industrial or manufacturing equipment and be knowledgeable of NEC, UL, FM, NFPA and OSHA regulations
* Must pass pre-employment drug screen, physical and routine background check
* Must be authorized to work in the United States
