Job Description:
Space Systems/Loral (SS/L) is the leading manufacturer of satellites located in Palo Alto, at SSL employees develop and build some of the most powerful and innovative satellite systems in the industry, and you can become a part of our team today! We currently have a career opportunity available for an electrical/mechanical assembly technician in the Bus Electronics Manufacturing organization who will perform standard and non standard production assembly operations on Electrical and /or Mechanical assemblies such as Modules, circuit card assembly's printed wiring board's panels, magnetic and /or cables. In this role some of the work to be performed will consist of the following: . Recognize the methods/ sequences of assembly that are need when complete information is not readily available and the appropriate action to be taken. . Perform quality inspections and continuity checks on completed units. . Apply statistical process control measurables and have understanding of statistical process control. . Complete all documentation related to work performed as required. . Obtain NASA certification . Requires CCA's remove conformal coating, desolder hybrid IC leads and use lead forming tooling on complex assemblies. . Requires minimal supervision on routine tasks. . Magnetics assembly, Participate in area and shift rotations. Follow applicable Space Systems/Loral policies and procedures. Familiar with ISO 9000 policies. Ability to work any shift on a flexible schedule if required. Candidate will participate in working corrective action board improvement efforts. Will also possess a minimum of two years experience "hardware" preferred. Minimum education of high school education required.
Space Systems/Loral has export control and security issues that require attention to citizenship status of every individual performing work on its behalf. Must be US citizen, Permanent Resident, Refugee and/or Asylee.
