Electrical Garage- Vehicle Technician
The Electrical Garage- Vehicle Technician is responsible for performing electrical system support for prototype vehicle builds, development vehicles, and validation vehicles. Prototype vehicle support will include modification of wiring harnesses, final wiring detail reworks during build, and system diagnostics. Development vehicle support will include integration of new components into existing electrical systems, fleet maintenance (diagnostics and repair), and working with engineering to resolve operational issues. Validation support will include working with engineering to resolve issues discovered during vehicle testing (component replacement, wiring modifications, etc.) and system testing performed in a lab environment.
Basic Qualifications: • Minimum 3 years of experience as a mechanic
• Must have a valid driver's license (no more than 2 points on driving record, no more than one at fault accident with the last two years and no DUI or DWI's)
• Familiarity with a variety of tools (hand, bench and machine)
• Experienced in modification of vehicle wire harnesses
• Demonstrated expertise in automotive electrical system diagnostics and repair
• Familiarity with vehicle electrical architectures and diagnostic tools
Preferred Qualifications: • Two or four year college degree preferred (A.A.S. degree in Auto Mechanics or similar discipline)
• ASE certification preferred
• Automotive electrical system development or validation experience
• Fabrication / machining capabilities
• Basic computer skills (MS Office)
• Good communication skills
• Ability to work in team environment
• Flexible to work on 1st or 2nd shift (3rd if needed), extended hours, holidays, and weekends
