Role Summary/Purpose The Lead Engineer / Technologist demonstrates leadership in communicating business goals, programs, and processes for an area or business segment. In this role you will utilize your experience or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and have the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals.
Essential Responsibilities
* Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards and product requirements

* Assist with the Design Authority for the electronic and sensor aspects of the instruments you are involved in developing

* Develop practical and innovative designs to meet goals.

* Help to resolve problems found during the manufacturing process or in the field

* Document technical data generated and be consistent with engineering policies and procedures

* Provide technical guidance and mentoring to less experienced engineers
Qualifications/Requirements
* Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, Physics, or related field

* Minimum of 3 years of experience working with Oil & Gas downhole equipment

* Minimum of 5 years of experience in an R&D environment
Additional Eligibility Qualifications GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening. Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen.
Desired Characteristics
* Expertise with EDA packages

* Ability to review schematics and PCB designs for accuracy, presentation, and manufacturability

* Team player and self-starter with the ability to operate without detailed work direction

* Ability to communicate with all internal levels of the business, and participate in meetings with customers

* Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects

* High proficiency in Altium / Protel design environment

* Familiarity with firmware, assembler and C, for microcontroller / DSP applications
