Electrical Engineer – Control Systems
Role Summary/Purpose The Electrical Engineer provides direction and assistance to work group in order to meet assigned objectives. In this role, you will drive the design, development, and application of BOP's (blow out preventers) electrical and electronic safety control systems. Electrical Engineers will address electrical customer change orders and work engineering changes and upgrades through manufacturing process. In this role, you will:
Essential Responsibilities Primarily responsible for contract fulfillment for electrical and electronic safety control systems from contract signing through system commissioning
Provide customer, manufacturing, sales, and field service technical support as required
Ensure timely processing and resolution of Engineering Change Requests (ECR’s), Engineering Change Orders (ECO’s), Non-Conformance Reports (NCR’s), and Customer Complaint Review (CCR) entries as applicable to the assigned products
Review O&M manuals for technical accuracy for the assigned products
Provide assistance with engineering and design support on product designs or applications to meet all applicable requirements in accordance with GE Oil & Gas standards, accepted industry practice, industry regulations, government regulations, and contract specifications
Review sales order inputs to determine if the items requested meet current GE Oil & Gas engineering and Q.A. standards
Ensure timely processing of these items if they do not meet the standards
Be responsible for the day-to-day direction of the assigned designers, drafters, and clerks
Requirements:
Qualifications/Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from accredited university or college
Minimum of 10 years of experience in the electrical engineering field
Minimum of 3 years of experience with control system contract fulfillment, manufacturing, and implementation

Desired Characteristics Minimum of 5 years experience with PLC control system programming and implementation
Ability to obtain passport and visas for international travel
Project Engineering or Project Management experience
Willing and able to work and travel to and from offshore exploration vessels 15% of the time
Ability to create technical reports and specifications
Experience using CAD (Computer Aided Design) software packages
Intimate knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel or equal
Strong technical knowledge of instrumentation selection and control application design, schematic and wiring diagrams and power system sizing calculations
