The primary responsibility of this role, as Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer, is to be accountable / responsible for maintenance, reliability, process control optimization of the instrumentation and electrical assets, as well as project development and execution in his/her area of responsibility. The Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer functions as a full team member and partner with the production and reliability groups in his/her assigned area to manage the electrical and instrumentation asset.
The incumbent will: . Maintenance, reliability, process control optimization of the instrumentation and electrical assets, as well as project development and execution in the area of responsibility; . Executing assignments of medium complexity and developing solutions for defined problems; . Provide technical assistance for monitoring process conditions and identifying process control improvement opportunities; . Lead continuous improvement (defect elimination, Root Cause Failure Analysis) on instrumentation, control and electrical failures and participate in Process Hazard and Operability Studies (HAZOP); . Manage and execute compliance and corrective active requests for critical instrumentation and electrical equipment; . Provide technical direction to instrumentation and electrical technicians; . Maintain accountability for instrumentation and electrical project costs and schedules; . Maintain accountability for operational success of projects in areas of responsibility; . Maintain accountability for instrumentation and electrical troubleshooting, loop tuning/monitoring, and process control optimization in assigned area; . Maintain accountability for the configuration of DCS/PLCs/Programmable Device; . Maintain accountability for controlling and updating unit instrumentation control system and electrical documentation. The selected candidate is required to possess the following: . B.S. in Electrical or Chemical engineering or related degree with 3-10 years of instrumentation and electrical experience; . Working knowledge of the maintenance and engineering of field instrumentation/electrical devices, analog and digital controls, distributed and computer controlled systems and programmable logic controllers(PLC); . Exceptional instrumentation and electrical field hardware knowledge as well as a working knowledge of process and operations; . Knowledge of the National Electric Code, power distribution up to 480V, and 480 V/2300V/4160V motor control; . Working knowledge of DCS (Provox, Delta V), and PLC configuration; . Working knowledge of personal computers and Microsoft office software; . Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to function as a team member; . Problem solving and analytical skills; . Strong communication skills (oral and written) with the ability to communicate to all levels of employees as well as external vendors; . Ability to interact with management in various departments is required in coordinating and complying with approved standards and policies; . Ability and willingness to travel, when required; . Ability and willingness to work extended hours and provide call-in coverage, when required.
Preferred Qualifications: . Experience working in an industrial chemical complex.
