Drafter- Designer Are you self-motivated? Ambitious? Driven to work for a market leader? Provide drafting / design and general support on product engineering projects, of varying scope, for Corporate R&D. This can include working on new product research / development, documenting new product ideas, and any associated technical documentation and / or testing. The Drafter / Designer is primarily responsible for making drawings and file revisions based on 3-D geometry created by engineers, as well as creating simple to complex 3-D geometry from engineering instructions or sketches.
What You’ll Need:
* Create and revise CAD models and assemblies from engineering instructions * Create and revise detailed component and assembly drawings from CAD models and layouts * Assist engineers and designers with the assembly, test, and implementation of their projects * Convert and generate CAD drawings between Unigraphics and other CAD packages * Work with Corporate R&D Tool Room to provide for the fabrication of models and prototypes * Procure parts via Customer Service, iProcurement and occasionally local retail stores / vendors
Plus:
* Minimum 3-5 years drafter / designer experience * High school diploma, some college a plus * 3D CAD experience and the ability to design 3D CAD models required; AutoCAD, Visio and SolidWorks, Pro-e, Unigraphics experience a plus * Capable of creating detail and assembly drawings * Basic math skills including Geometry and Trigonometry * Knowledge of machine shop practices and associated tolerances * Familiar with the use of inspection equipment such as calipers, micrometer, microscope, optical comparator, height gage/indicator, etc. * Proven ability to manage multiple priorities effectively and efficiently, to maintain / meet project milestone completion dates and keep organized project records * Good analytical and problem solving skills * Proficiency with MS Office software * Receptivity and ability to improve and expand skill set * Willingness and ability to work effectively with others in a highly motivated team environment * Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in spoken and written word.
