The Engineering Integrated Solutions Group (EISG) will service accelerated product development needs across the organization supporting Hot Section Engineering, Cold Section Engineering, Programs, and others. Services include design for manufacturing, fabricating/procuring prototypes/development parts, concept feasibility test and analysis, and R&D related to advanced fabrication methods and tools.

The Design for Manufacturing Lead will be responsible for and gain experience in a wide range of challenging development tasks with exposure to various fabrication processes. The successful candidate will play a key role in the tactical and strategic direction of the Engineering Integrated Solutions Group. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- proactive engagement with CIPTs/IPTs across module centers to support their development hardware design for manufacturing needs at every phase of the IPD process
- resolution of technical issues related to design for manufacturing
- Ensures team (internal/external) reaches decisions necessary to achieve development hardware design goals per CIPT/IPT requests and participates for progress reporting, risk assessment, risk mitigation, and execution
- Ensure the technical and functional requirements are addressed
- Establishing, documenting, communicating best practices and tribal knowledge
- Support accelerated product development activities
- Technical expertise on the product and designing for different fabrication methods, quality requirements, fabrication process selection, technical support with customers/suppliers for present and future requirements.
- Support the CIPT designers to define the mechanical design requirements and system integration features that meet the customer and program goals
- Work with the CIPT designers to review component risks, identify system mechanical risks, and develop/manage mitigation plans that ensure the mechanical requirements are achieved
- Confirm the component is designed and can be produced in a manner that meets the customer's system requirements
- Support the CIPT designers with part/module level Product Design Reviews as requested and where appropriate
- Ensure the processes for safety, maintainability, reliability, durability and weight management are executed consistent with ESW
- Define new design rules and tools for new fabrication methods
