Administer Level 2 break fixes for the development, integration, training, patching and production of Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL and DB2 servers on Unix and Windows platform databases; perform Oracle database administration including installation, set-up, configuration and upgrading Oracle, SQL Server and DB2 relational database management systems (RDBMS) using SAP, Ariba and PeopleSoft technologies in a database production environment; manage work transition from offshore DBAs and review iChanges; work on cases and tickets assigned to the Tier 2 database queue; monitor alerts coming to Visualizer and create tickets; work closely with Operations Managers during outage and crisis situations; perform break-fix activity to cases coming to database queue and escalate to Tier 3 DBAs; resolve adhoc requests.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's or foreign equivalent degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science or Computer Engineering, or will accept a Bachelor’s equivalent based on a combination of education, training or experience as determined by a qualified evaluation service. Also requires three years of experience in Oracle database administration including installing, setting-up, configuring and upgrading Oracle, SQL Server and DB2 relational database management systems (RDBMS) using SAP, Ariba and PeopleSoft technologies in a database production environment.
Location: Dallas, Texas (and various locations throughout the U.S., may work from home).
