We are in the process of developing next generation CPU cores to power our future products. These are pretty sophisticated CPU architectures with high performance goals and cater to the computing needs of next generation tablets/smart phones/internet devices. In today's world, performance needs of handheld devices are ever increasing, approaching that of desktops/laptops and some times even servers. But at the same time, power budgets are under tight control. The group is involved in designing new CPU Pipeline architectures utilizing state-of-the-art concepts with multi cores and multi-threads to meet both high performance needs at low power budgets.
Job responsibilities include: . Participate in the Micro-Architecture development of our next generation CPU core pipelines . Develop the Models for the above pipeline design . Study the bottlenecks of the above pipelines using popular S/W applications . Come up with new ideas/concepts to solve the bottlenecks in order to meet the performance goals/power budgets . Optionally participate in the design implementation process . Analyze the current core architectures for potential performance bottlenecks and develop ideas/techniques to enhance . Coordinate in the design process to monitor the performance issues . Provide benchmark numbers to the management as needed . Closely work with S/W teams on constant basis during compiler or OS development
