Navistar Engine Group, is a global leader in diesel engine production, offering a lineup of high-performance diesel xForce Diesel Enginesare manufactured and assembled at our Huntsville, Alabama campus.
The successful candidate for this position would reside at this location and work as an extension of our Indianapolis based;Advanced Manufacturing Engineeringteam.
Primary duties, responsibilities include; * Provide support for electrical, software and hardware for machining and assembly. * Communicate with machine OEM on new software and hardware changes. * Work directly with machine OEM on recommissioning of equipment and modifications to control programs and auxiliary systems. * Collaborate with Corporate Information Technology on shop floor networking and interfaces. * Test various machine software configurations to ensure reliability. * Install and debug shop floor equipment. * Request capital expenditures. * Develop disaster recovery procedures for all shop floor control systems. * Run-off new equipment. * Develop and support the Supervisory Control & Data Acquisition System (SCADA). * Identify electrical training needs for maintenance technicians and engineers. * Work with maintenance planners to obtain critical electrical spare parts. Position Purpose and Requirements:
Responsible for maintaining shop floor electrical control systems, advising maintenance personnel on system repair procedures and troubleshooting and resolving electrical problems in a team environment.
Basic Requirements: * Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology * At least 3 years of industrial controls experience Additional Requirements:
* Ability to travel 25% Desired Skills: * Experience with PLC Software, networking operations systems, variable frequency drives, ABB Robotics, and feedback devices. * Experience programming Allen Bradley/Rockwell controls platforms over Ethernet IP and/or Experience programming with PC Worx2.0 using Phoenix Contact Controllers * Project Management skills * Involvement with Continuous Improvement and Trouble shooting. * Engine or Engine component assembly and or testing experience highly desirable. * Knowledge of Automated Process Measurement Systems & Statistical Analysis Tools. * Experience with Mechanical/Electrical Designs and Automatic Assembly Equipment. * Knowledge of Typical Quality Operating Systems * Positive Attitude, Ethics, and International Values which support our company's values and a healthy, high performance culture. * Commitment to delivering quality processes and products which drive profitability * Experience with MS Windows applications * Minimum Three (3) years experience with PLC programming, Allen Bradley, G-code, ABB robot controllers, ladder * logic, control circuit diagrams, networking systems, and variable frequency drives.
