We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Controller.This position reports to the Vice President (VP), Corporate Controller, and is responsible for establishing, directing, coordinating, and administering a plan for the control of financial operations. Objectives are typically accomplished through subordinate management.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the direction of the VP, Corporate Controller, duties and responsibilities include but not limit to:

Develop and implement metrics and models to quantify financial impact (accretion/dilution, cash flow, IRR, ROIC) and accountability

Develop and direct fiscal operating policies and procedures and economic evaluations

Develop, track, and analyze key business metrics to drive strategic and tactical decision making as well as promote organizational transparency

Develop and analyze financial and strategic business initiatives to improve profitability

Define and implement financial/accounting processes to ensure alignment of business plans and corporate objectives

Oversee traditional accounting functions and the daily oversight of financial operations

Participate in external audits and oversees necessary controls to safeguard assets

Oversee the preparation of reports, maintenance of historical records, & the comparative evaluation of actual costs against budgeted funds

Oversee the preparation, review and analysis of budgets, financial forecasts, proposal rates, schedules, and reports for regulatory agencies in accordance with the FAR, FASB, IRS and other appropriate laws and regulations

Manage the collection of data and allocate operational costs in accordance with established procedures

Oversee the preparation of annual financial forecasts

Ensure compliance with all government regulations, including reporting and tax compliance

Oversee the development and implementation of financial accounting systems required to maintain reporting requirements

Establish and maintain strong relationships with senior leaders so as to identify their needs and seek full range of business solutions

May be responsible for international accounting activities and consolidation in corporate accounts

May participate in the administration of insurance programs such as casualty, property-loss, and workers’ compensation

Responsible for ensuring all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations are observed wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Must demonstrate a detailed and extensive expertise and application of accounting principles, concepts, and practices as well as comprehensive management and leadership skills including organizing, planning, scheduling, and coordinating workloads to meet established deadlines or milestones

Experienced in developing, leading, and applying financial techniques to specific business challenges and in deriving trends from such analytics to support specific courses of action and possess thorough knowledge of best business practices for a high technology-driven company

Must demonstrate the ability to design business models and financial strategies for new initiatives

Must possess broad and in-depth knowledge of fiscal and business management practices in budget management

Must possess the ability to resolve unusually complex management and accounting issues. Strong communication, leadership, presentation, and interpersonal skills are required

Must possess strong operational controllership skills and expertise and highly adept at working effectively with peers from a variety of disciplines and be able to work on a self-initiated basis and in a team environment

Headquartered in San Diego, CA, General Atomics maintains expansive facilities housing engineering, laboratory, and manufacturing operations in Southern California and various locations in the U.S.
