Job Summary:
We are seeking a Principal Research Scientist at our office in Jersey City, NJ. This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic, rapidly growing organization.
The selected candidate will perform applied research on biometric technologies and pattern recognition.
Essential Job Functions (includes but is not limited to):
* Creates, implements and tests algorithmic biometric technology innovations for incorporation into products and solutions in the areas of face, iris and fingerprint recognition.
Knowledge, Skill and Abilities Preferred:
* Advanced technical knowledge in biometrics, pattern recognition, statistics.
* Code/algorithm optimization skills.
* Strong state-of-the-art knowledge in associated field.
* Self-motivated researcher.
* Strong knowledge of academic work in the field of study.
* Strong mathematics skills, including numerical analysis, statistics, and image processing algorithms.
* Ability to write software implementation of algorithms in C++.
* Ability to write significant development software for testing of algorithms.
* Ability to independently define and implement significant research projects.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Fluency in written and spoken English.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Masters Degree (or preferably a PhD) in pattern recognition, machine learning, other computer science, mathematics or physics.
* Minimum 8 years experience in the field of Fingerprint Biometrics required.
* Previous employment at the assistant professor level in academia or at the permanent scientist level in industry preferred.
