We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Configuration Managerwithin our Energy Group HQ division at our facility in La Jolla/Torrey Pines.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversee and provide recommendations to improve the organization’s configuration management activities, which include: identification, control, and accounting for engineering documents for systems and/or equipment in accordance with contractual requirements, as well as development and monitoring of organizational procedures for changes to engineering documents for assigned programs.
Coordinate and consult with configuration management staff across various business units, program/engineering management, Quality Assurance, and Information Technology to ensure that common and best-practice procedures are developed, implemented, and completed.
Provide leadership in developing solutions to a variety of complex technical and management matters.
In coordination with Program Managers, participate in progress planning and review sessions to discuss costs, schedule, and technical performance.
Participate in the development of proposals, business plans, work statements and specifications, operating budgets and financial terms/conditions as the related toconfiguration management activities.
May participate in the development and implementation of organization wide initiatives as well as long term planning.
Represent the organization on configuration management matters as a primary interface with internal business units as well as outside representatives.
As assigned or appropriate, supervise and guide configuration management staff. Assist in attracting, developing and retaining personnel to ensure that businessobjectives are met.
Responsible for ensuring all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations are observed wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of theCompany. Responsible for ensuring work is accomplished in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
Perform other duties as assigned or required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Typically requires a Bachelors degree in Configuration Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related discipline
Thirteen or more years of progressive professional experience in Configuration Management, including seven years of supervisory experience. May substitute equivalent experience in lieu of education.
Must demonstrate extensive expertise of configuration principles, theories, concepts and practices, and comprehensive project management and leadership skills to include the ability to organize, schedule, conduct, and coordinate workloads and staff to meet established milestones.
Must be customer focused and possess the ability to identify issues, analyze and interpret data and develop innovative solutions to a variety of extremely complex matters of diverse scope and nature.
Excellent analytical, verbal and written communication skills to accurately document, report, and present findings to a variety of audiences including company executives, senior management and senior external parties.
Excellent interpersonal skills to influence and guide all levels of employees, including senior managers and senior external parties.
Ability to maintain the strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
Ability to initiate, plan, and manage multiple projects.
Ability to select, train, oversee, and motivate personnel.
Ability to represent the company on external projects.
Excellent computer skills. Must have experience in and proficiency with configuration applications, such as Windchill/PDMLink or alike.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
The ability to work extended hours and travel is also required.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience in and proficiency with Windchill/PDMLink.
Certified International Configuration Management (CICM) or Certified International Software Configuration Management (CISCM) designation.
