POSITION SUMMARY: Working under the Supervision of the Civil Engineer (PE) provide assistance on all aspects of the project such as reviewing Statement of Need (SON), communicate with customer, provide accurate cost to Civil Engineer for a complete and accurate Independent Government Estimate (IGE) including Statement of Work (SOW). Provide constructive feedback when necessary to evaluate on-going projects that require technical assistance. The civil tech must have actual surveying experience and ability to interpret results, ability in using Auto Cad to produce complete set of drawings for civil, architectural, structural and plumbing.
MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES:
1. This position is closely supervised due to the fact that any mistake on the engineers side can have catastrophic repercussions. 2. Must be able to communicate with base populace and interpret their needs 3. Performs other duties and assignments as required, such as updating civil architectural and Structural drawings with As-Built provided by contractor after completion of CASS MACC projects.
MATERIAL & EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED: Computer, Cell Phone, Vehicle, and other office equipment. AutoCAD, Designing and laying out Civil Engineering Plans,
WORKING ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES: 1. Exposure to extreme heat at temperatures of 140 degrees for long periods of time. 2. 48 hours (6days) @ 8 hours is the standard work week. This position might require flexibility in work hours. Experience Requirements: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent is required; Associates Degree is preferred
Experience: Should have excellent oral and written communication skills; Five (5) years working in a similar position and shall have improvement/quality management system experience.
