Position Overview Performs a variety of engineering tasks by applying standard civil engineering techniques and analyses. The Engineer at this level has experience and an increasing proficiency in the utilization of engineering theories and practices, and Company procedures. Typical project assignments are larger in scope, more difficult and varied than at the Associate Engineer level. Some assignments involve CAE (computer aided engineering)/CAD (computer aided design) applications.
Specific Responsibilities Completes a variety of assignments such as drawings, specifications, and other materials suitable for procurement and construction purposes, utilizing CAE/CAD as applicable.
Prepares standard engineering computations, material quantity take-offs, estimates, surveys and designs
Prepares and issues specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents.
Provides input and technical guidance to CAD Designer/Drafters, Designers, and lower-level Engineers working on the same project.
Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
Qualifications: Requirements
• 4-year degree in Civil Engineering
• Minimum 3 years of road/highway alignment design experience
• Road / Highway experience with NYCDOT, NYSDOT and/or DDC projects required
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certificate required
• Proficiency with Microstation is required
