Chassis- Suspension Structural Component Engineer



The Chassis- Suspension Structural Component Engineer is responsible for the design, development, packaging, testing, and releasing of the following suspension structural components: control arms, links, knuckles, twist beam axle and ball joints. Interface with Advance Vehicle Engineering for vehicle packaging and developing component level specifications. Develop product assurance planning (program management). Manage the supplier of these components: DFMEA (Design Failure Mode Effects Analysis), DVP&R (Design Validation and Reliability Report), Timing, Proactive Quality Plan and Reactive Quality Problem Solving. Support supplier quality during Process Sign-off (PSO). Support supplier quality during PFMEA reviews (Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis). Release the components via change management system (CN's). Interface with Fiat on component commonization opportunities. Some travel to supplier plants and Chrysler Assembly plants is required.

Basic Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering degree required
• Hands on experience with Catia / NX
• Experience with MS Office Suite

Preferred Requirements:

• Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering or MBA degree is considered a plus
• 3 year of chassis / suspension development experience
• Full understanding of automotive suspension systems
• Experience in durability testing; components system and vehicle
• Experience managing suppliers and/or engineers
• Self-Directed
• Strong Leadership Skills
• Outstanding Communication skills
• Outstanding Organization skills
• Multi-tasking
• Priority Setting
• Delegation
• Obtaining support from outside areas
