Title: CADD SOLID MODEL DRAFTER
Location: California-Sunnyvale
Perform as a Project Lead and develop Pro-Engineer solid models and layouts for complex mechanical and structural apparatus from customer specifications and design engineering information.
Responsibilities include:
- Planning and preparation of design disclosure solid models, layouts, and manufacturing drawings
- Developing the design based on cost-effective design and manufacturing methods
- Performing basic stress and mathematical calculations required to develop an acceptable design
- Organizing and directing other CADD Drafters as required
- Maintaining and following a work plan to insure a design package is completed
Basic Qualifications:
An AA Degree in Drafting from a college or advanced technical training or its equivalent in experience. Must have successfully completed advanced as well as basic Pro-E solid model courses. As part of qualifying for this position, must have passed the Northrop Grumman skills test for this classification. Requires working knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing per the latest American Standards. Must have demonstrated the ability to effectively communicate with engineering and other drafting personnel and coordinate and follow project activities to completion with a high degree of accuracy
Preferred Qualifications:
A working knowledge of all aspects of machine design such as casting, forging, welding, brazing, machining, and assembly; physical and chemical properties of various metals; and machine tools and material handling capabilities.
