CAD Technician/Designer
Williamsburg Environmental Group, Inc. (WEG) is accepting resumes for a CAD Technician to work with a team of design professionals in a progressive company located in Fredericksburg, VA. WEG provides specialized environmental services in the areas of water resources engineering, ecology, environmental planning, regulatory support, landscape architecture. These capabilities have been combined to provide specific services for development projects, utilities development/relocation projects, and transportation projects (specifically the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT)).
Requirements:
The preferred candidate should have 4+ years of experience utilizing Microstation, experience with VDOT plan development standards, the ability to work within a team environment, and possess a working knowledge of some or all of the following skills as they relate to professional practice:
- Experience with Microstation V8, XM, and Geopak
- Preparation of engineering documentation and graphics:
- Resource inventory map preparation and site analysis
- Conceptual design to final site/stormwater plan design development
- Grading, drainage, and layout
- Construction detailing and document preparation
- Preparation of environmental inventory maps and permit support graphics
- Wetland delineation and impacts maps
- Wetland mitigation feasibility maps
- Regulatory support graphics for water quality impact assessments
- Two-dimensional color plan graphics
- Site feasibility studies
- Perform work in accordance with the most recent VDOT CADD and Geopak manual
- Ability to work in a highly automated design office environment
- Spreadsheet and word processing applications
- Adobe Acrobat
