External Job Title CAD Operator AutoReqId 35384BR Function Engineering Employee category Regular Travel Required Up to 10 percent Job Description Eaton Corporation has an opening for a CAD Operator at Lakeside, Redditch. The overall purpose of this role is to operate 2D and 3D software on a PC Workstation.
The main responsibilities for the role include: - To provide single piece assembly and finished product drawings/models for manufacturing purposes. - To enter completed drawings into a global intranet system (E-docs/PDM) for approval purposes. This includes data entry and change procedure tasks to be performed. - To provide detailed product definition drawings suitable for manufacture of all parts, assemblies and top level saleable items to Global Customer Standards (Airbus, Westlands etc). The Standards used to be directed by the Design Engineer. - To do changes to drawings as required both in CATIA, CADAM and 'pencil' on paper mode. - To ensure new and changed drawings are available for manufacture in a timely manner. - To add and maintain accurate bills of material to the MRP system. - To support manufacturing engineers in resolving drawing related problems, inc design for manufacture. - Development paperwork creation/generation (S8 orders). - Knowledge of product range for CAD applications. - Use of PC (general office software). Job Qualifications/Educational Requirements - Ideal candidate will be degree qualified, although HNC/D level along with a good engineering background will be considered - The candidate should be competent with CATIA V5 and MS Office, confident with calculations and at ease when interacting with customers (both internal and external) - Experience in the Aerospace or Automotive industries, along with use of PLM systems would be advantageous.
