Position Summary Provides support to the Engineering Group by preparing layouts, detail drawings, assembly drawings; data translations; file retrieval and transmission; part design feasibility and engineering documentation. Desired Work Experience CAD Operator and/or CAD Designer experience with a Tier One automotive supplier. Educational Requirements Associates Degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or three CAD Operator/Designer experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Desired Skills - Solid understanding of computer assisted design/drafting techniques and familiarity with engineering terminology; - Knowledge of IGES, DXF, C4X, Unigraphics and Catia V-5; - Mechanical aptitude and analytical skills; - Advanced computer skills and spreadsheet proficiency; - Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills. Job Responsibilities and Duties - Uses computer assisted design/drafting to create/revise layouts and drawings; and develop designs; - Operates CAD system to retrieve files, transmit files and plot from math data; - Updates drafting and engineering standards; - Tracks engineering changes and design change authorizations; - Translates files into various formats: IGES translations (Initial Graphics Exchange) DXF - Autocad design and tracking of parts C4X translations - Design feasibility of parts; - Interfaces with Tooling, QA, Engineering, Manufacturing, customers, vendors and contractors regarding new and revised layouts and drawings; - Performs all other duties as assigned. The successful candidate must pass a comprehensive background check and drug screen.
