Senior Field Service Engineer

Position Summary

Field Service Engineers reports to Chief of Operations and the President of Calibration Technologies. Field Service Engineer installs, repairs and calibrates analytical laboratory instruments and equipment, such as Gas Chromatography (GC), GC Mass Spectrometry, High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy FTIR, Ultra Violet/Visible Spectrophotometers (UV/Vis Specs), and Dissolution Apparatus Systems in accordance with accepted manufacturer specifications, governing regulations and Calibration Technologies Standard Operating Procedures. Engineer consults with supervisors and customers to plan the servicing of laboratory equipment and instruments for multiple clients throughout the United States.  Follows applicable Calibration Technologies Standard Operating Procedures.

Sr. Field Service Engineer Responsibilities

  • Works in the field to provide instrument repair, installation, maintenance and calibration services to CT clients.
    • Assures the accurate and scientifically sound troubleshooting of complex problems with equipment and procedures. 
  • Assures that the completion of instrument installation, repair, preventative maintenance, and calibration is in a compliant manner in accordance with Calibration Technologies Standard Operating Procedures.
    • Assure all work is performed in adherence to regulatory requirements, client and company policies and procedures, and contract specifications. 
  • Determines reasonable specifications, tolerances and calibration intervals for analytical manufacturing and process instrumentation and equipment.
  • Provides expertise to Calibration Technologies and client sites while working to revise SOPs, customer procedures or other metrology type procedures.
  • Research new equipment and instrument validation methods to assure that Calibration Technologies remains always up to date and offers their clients the most up to date equipment and services.
  • Maintain good client relations.  Assess client satisfaction and respond to insufficiencies as appropriate.


Requirements:

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated and quantifiable knowledge of cGMP and GLP regulations.
  • Ability to repair and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments.  Including but not limited to GC. GCMS. HPLC, FTIR, and Dissolution Systems.
  • Must be willing to learn and grow with responsibilities.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment.
  • Must “go the extra mile” in their daily tasks.
  • Technical School Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Current Driver’s License in good standing.
  • Must have access/own a Dependable vehicle.
  • Possess:
    • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
    • Strong team work and customer service focus.
    • Ability to learn and take on increased responsibility as the business grows.
    • Demonstrated business skills; able to assess client needs, resolve client issues, find new leads, etc
