We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Business Intelligence Architect in our ITS division. As BI Team Lead, reporting to the ITS Business Systems Manager, this position is responsible for leading a SAP BI Team of analysts and developers, including planning and coordinating their work for General Atomics.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Works directly with functional analysts and project members to develop new data warehouse functionality from business specifications by modeling designing, developing, testing and implementing the appropriate Info Cubes and objects needed to meet business requirements
-Develops architecture and strategic direction for the BI reporting platform
-Manages a team of BI/Business Objects consultants on SAP projects
-Ensures efficient and uninterrupted operations; develops innovative solutions to highly complex technical and procedure problems
- Develops custom dashboards and reports with Business Objects EXCELSIUS, WEBI and Crystal Reports
-Maintains a current level of knowledge and applicability pertaining to new SAP BI/BW/BOBJ developments to ensure the group implements BI/BW/BOBJ functionality in the optimal manner
-O bserves all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company
-Works in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices
-Performs other duties as assigned or required
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILIITES:
-Typically requires a Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Business related field along with fourteen or more years progressive experience in SAP BI (BW) and ABAP programming and development. Equivalent professional experience may be substituted in lieu of education or development experience
-Must have 8+ years with SAP BI (BW) in both front and back-end components and 6+ years ABAP programming/development or SAP ECC functional experience in one or more functional areas (FI/CO, SD, MM, PS, PP, QM, WM, PM)
-Must demonstrate thorough understanding of SAP BI principles, theories, concepts and techniques including SAP Portals, Netweaver, J2EE and SAP XI
-Extensive experience with and proficiency developing with Business Objects and leading an SAP BI team
-Excellent analytical, verbal and written communication skills are required as well as excellent interpersonal skill to interface with all levels of employees, management and external contacts
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment
-Ability to work extended hours as required
