Job Description
Accountable for the high level architecture of applications, databases and integration systems within a financial services environment.
1. Create key high level design deliverables based on project requirements, SOA based vision and industry standards. Create detailed database designs for data warehouse initiatives.
2. Understand and track capabilities of all core software applications.
3. Create roadmap of applications and what key functions they perform within the environment
4. Provide architecture alternatives with trade-offs.
5. Aid PMO and IS Support teams in estimating project scope and size.
6. Work with business users to evaluate whether vendor software meets functional requirements and will integrate within the environment by conforming to hardware & software standards.
7. Identify and provide direction on new technologies that will enable reduced expenses and improved IT and organization efficiencies.
8. Evaluate and provide feedback on developer created detailed designs.
9. Collaborate with other financial institutions on industry initiatives that create and drive industry standard API specifications and identify opportunities for sharing base architecture infrastructures.
10. Ensure that application design meets recovery time objectives.
11. Manage on-going repository of technical infrastructure, application flows, business processes, and other organizational assets across the enterprise.
12. Identify departmental automation opportunities and make recommendations on best fit solutions.
13. Build proof-of-concept applications that enable the organization to identify new market opportunities and reduce overall expenses.
Job Requirements
Requires four-year college degree in computer science or similar concentration with 10 or more years of related, progressively more responsible and expansive work experience. Minimum 5 years information technology experience developing applications to solve business problems with experience in team facilitation, and problem resolution. Extensive experience and knowledge of: - Service Oriented N-Tier secure and scalable architecture utilizing middleware to connect vendor and internal web services via SOAP, WSDL, XML, REST SOA based design patterns.
- Microsoft .Net development technologies including Team Foundation Server.
- Mobile iPhone, Android, Microsoft Mobile application design.
- Windows 2003/2008 Server.
- SQL 2005, 2008 R2, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS design
- Plus: Symitar's Episys or other FI core, Citrix, Microsoft Azure, HTML 5 experience
Demonstrated enterprise architecture design skills Strong written, verbal, team and customer service skills. Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Able to travel 15% of the time. Experience integrating diverse business systems technologies and business partners. Financial services industry experience
