Automotive Designer - Salaried Bargaining Unit
The Automotive Designer is responsible performing frontal area studies, clay pack studies, CFD studies, thermal clearance checks, cutting sections and providing measurements. Perform digital vehicle builds to support AERO-Acoustic buck builds and Aero Thermal functions. Create the geometry for wind tunnel fixtures. Convert data; NX from CATIA and CATIA to NX utilizing VPM and Teamcenter. Interface with many people across several departments. The candidate will use mostly Unigraphics NX, Teamcenter and some CATIA V5 systems to provide design support for the Aero Thermal department.
Basic Qualifications: • Community College Design Degree or equivalent experience and training in a design/engineering field or environment
• Strong NX design capabilities required
• Minimum of 1-3 years in Siemens Unigraphics design
• Working Teamcenter knowledge
• Interpersonal and communication skills will be critical
• Organized and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, meeting critical deadlines
• Must be willing to work in a team environment and to share knowledge
• Extensive experience with Unigraphics NX and Teamcenter is critical
• Solid Modeling, and digital mock-up are key skills
• Experience with Microsoft products (Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
Preferred Qualifications: • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing, design, and materials
• Working knowledge of CATIA V5
• Parametric modeling experience
