Provide technical leadership and support for the operation, maintenance and continuous improvement of manufacturing instrumentation and process control systems. Implement improvements in systems capabilities that will increase the ability to meet customer requirements (including safe and reliable operations, and improve business competitiveness, using Six Sigma methodology as applicable. Work closely with the Line Leadership, Technical/Manufacturing Resources, operators and mechanics to understand the business, site needs and user needs and priorities (voice of the customer). Provide Instrumentation and Process Control assistance for the manufacturing area in various technologies ranging from Allen Bradley Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), IP21 data systems, and other interfaces with various IT technologies and systems. Provide programming support and commission new instrumentation, basic administration of PLC systems including monitoring and upkeep of applications, knowledge of Allen Bradley programmable logic controllers, programming using control/view, RS View or Wonderware. Troubleshoot and replace system hardware, resolve software malfunctions and assist in software upgrades. Work with maintenance to develop improvement options to address reliability issues. - Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering. - At least 3 years of experience in a chemical manufacturing environment - At least 3 years or more computer systems support. - Demonstrated skill in configuring, documenting and troubleshooting a variety of PLC systems. - Excellent knowledge and understanding of PLC's, HMI and S88 batch systems. - Demonstrated skills to complete work independently and through influence. - Demonstrated ability to lead and participate on teams. Demonstrated knowledge of chemical process operations. - Proficient in systems such as Lotus Notes, Word, Excel - Six Sigma Green Belt Certification is preferred.
