U.S. Nationals (USNs) with valid: Driver's License Passport
Experience: 5 years with a strong background in surveying and computer aided drafting (AutoCAD).
Fluently read, write, speak, and understand English Proficiency with AutoCad 2008 software Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint Meet all security and other specific requirements as set forth in the Performance Work Statement (PWS) Job Description: The AutoCAD Operations/Technician will provide the 380th Expeditionary Civil Engineer Squadron design, engineering support to augment in-house capabilities at Al Dhafra AB, UAE. Responsibilities Include, but are not limited to the following duties: * Provide feedback to engineers during the design process on constructability and maintainability of projects * Create architectural, electrical, mechanical, and civil designs using AutoCad 2009 * Be knowledgeable in engineering tables, plans, and specifications * Accept engineering concept sketches, existing redlined drawings, and schematics to prepare detailed finished drawings * Install, maintain, operate, and troubleshoot large format plotters * Use Spatial Data Standards for Facilities, Infrastructure, and Environment (SDSFIE) * Incorporate design standards per Government direction * Use ArcGIS for implementation into base master planning * Effectively manage drafters * Utilize surveying equipment such as a theodolite, geodimeter, and Trimble GPS Rover * Create topography maps * Communicate directly to their government counterparts * Become familiar with the local culture and customs and must be able to conduct behavior according to the PWS contract and laws of the host nation * Function as an integral member of a team of highly trained professionals responsible for the operations and maintenance of support facilities and equipment for base personnel and resources * Use interpersonal and teamwork skills to develop constructive working relationships with co-workers and project stakeholders * Obtain flight line driver's licenses and badge to operate Government-owned vehicles on and around the flight line
It is critical that candidates commit to approximately one year in meeting the above, detailed expectations. Equally important is a clear understanding of the anticipated work environment. Al Dhafra Air Base, United Arab Emirates (UAE) is located in South West Asia in a harsh, desert environment. Facilities are temporary trailers inhabited by multiple occupants. Inherent to a military location, there is a heightened level of threat with limited security liabilities when traveling on personal business. Hours of operation are from 0700-1800 on Saturday through Thursday, i.e. 60 hours per week with a one-hour lunch break. Working overtime and holidays may be required. Candidates can expect the work expectations and the harsh environment to result in high pressure and stress. EOE M/F/D/V
