Associate Manufacturing Engineer
Title: Associate Manufacturing Engineer
Location: California-Anaheim

SUMMARY:
The position of Associate Manufacturing Engineer, reporting to the Group Leader, Industrial & Manufacturing Engineering, under limited supervision, provides the Manufacturing Engineering support to the production team(s) to manufacture and assemble existing and future products.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1) Support Manufacturing operations to maintain highest level of productivity and quality possible.
2) Evaluate and develop methods to produce and assemble high tech electro-mechanical products to improve cost, quality and schedule.
3) Plan, develop and facilitate the implementation of processes and procedures required to assemble electro/mechanical sub assemblies, assemblies, and systems to reduce cost, improve Quality and schedule.
4) Coordinate with Sustaining Engineering, Quality and manufacturing to resolve production problems to meet the production schedule.
5) Develop, maintain and input routers into MTO database for new and existing products.
6) Participate effectively in the Design Reviews on new and existing products with Design Engineering and make recommendations for ease of manufacturing and to improve cost, quality and schedule.
7) Design and/or recommend equipment, assembly aids and tooling required to manufacture products.
8) Investigate, select, justify and procure manufacturing tools and equipment including capital equipment to improve production. Develop and present PAR (Project Authorization Request) to management with economic justification.
9) Implement and sustain Lean Manufacturing and 5S in the assigned team area.
10) Monitor ESD control program in the assigned team area.
11) Support manufacturing team(s) with ME/IE support to realize the business goals.
12) Strong interest in Continuing Education to develop personal skill level in the area of Industrial & Manufacturing Engineering/Technology to support future production.
13) Performs other duties as assigned by the Management.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:
* Minimum 3-5 years experience in Manufacturing Engineering or related profession in high tech industry assembling and testing electro-mechanical products for the Defense Industry.
* Knowledge of production of electrical/mechanical hardware to military requirements and specifications with the understanding and familiarity with military quality component types.
* Knowledge of schematics and wire lists to estimate labor hours.
* Method development/analysis for sub assembly and system wiring including of harness board design and creation.
* Understanding and experience of electronic assembly processes, tooling and equipment required to assemble and solder printed wiring assemblies, sub-assembly and system wiring per military specifications.
* Understanding and experience of the processes and procedures required to manufacture and assemble cables/harnesses, magnetics, electro/mechanical sub assemblies, assemblies, and systems.
* Understanding and experience to design of assembly aids and tooling.
* Experience in the selection of manufacturing tools and equipment inclusive of capital equipment to improve production
* Oral and written communication skills.
* Proficiency in the use of personal computers and software.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCEBachelors Degree in related discipline or equivalent in Manufacturing Technology with 3 to 5 years related experience and/or training.
