Job Overview: This is an entry level engineering position within the Aerojet Mechanical Design organization.
Responsibilities: Under the guidance of senior staff, perform entry-level professional engineering assignments following established policies. The position requires some independent professional judgment and application of engineering principles, theories and concepts. Concentration is on the mechanical design of solid and liquid propulsion systems.
50% - Perform a variety of mechanical engineering responsibilities including basic calculations, preliminary design, use of computer aided design software, and work on projects that are key in the development of mechanical systems used in aerospace propulsion devices.
30% - Assist in the generation and review of engineering drawings and technical specifications. Work with manufacturing engineering and support operations tasks.
20% - Assist in the generation of presentation materials and engineering reports.
Qualifications: Bachelor's of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is required. Strong mechanical aptitude and experience with CAD software tools is desired. Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level (requires U.S. Citizenship). Academic background related to propulsion products is desired.
