Position Overview Parsons has an immediate need for an entry level electrical engineer to perform system integration tasks for SCADA and Remote Monitoring Systems, related transit systems and facilities. The Engineer at this level is in a developmental mode, being trained under close supervision in the utilization of engineering theories and practices, and gaining exposure to Company procedures. Willingness to travel or relocate to supplier, client, or construction site locations is expected.
Responsibilities • Review project designs and submittals
• Attend project meetings and prepare meeting minutes
• Develop specifications and drawings
• Attend factory testing and field testing
• Perform troubleshooting in lab and field
• Perform verification and acceptance testing
• Develop Engineering Modification Instruction (EMI)
Qualifications: • Bachelor degree in electrical engineering (BSEE) from an accredited university
• 1-3 years technical experience
• EIT required
• Fluent understanding of electrical / electronic schematics and interconnection diagrams.
• Hands-on experience with test instruments including meters, scopes, analyzers, debuggers, simulators, etc.
• Technical knowledge of Electrical Power System, Traction Power Automation field devices and HVAC control systems
• Preferred experience with communications:
o Implementing Remote Terminal Units (RTUs) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) is desirable
o Experience in communications with Intelligent Electronic Devices (IEDs) which will include digital relays, digital meters, electronic monitors, thermostats, UPS systems, rectifiers, transformers, and other generic IEDs as required.
o Proficient in the use of PC with knowledge of Microsoft Windows PC hardware including NIC, video cards, modems, USB ports, serial & parallel ports, etc.
o Experience with various PC application software including Microsoft Suite and AutoCAD.
