Dana Corporation is seeking to hire multiple Assembly Technician positions for the Gordonsville, TN location
Job Summary: Performs various functions and may run more than one specific operation as part and parcel of the scope of this position. The function of this job title is to perform all phases of work entailed in the operation and assembly of loose component parts, including ensuring quality, to achieve a completed driveshaft assembly for light duty application in various makes and models of pick-up trucks and sport utility vehicles. Competencies: . Know and adhere to the Quality Systems, Policies, and Procedures. . Know and adhere to the policies and procedures of the Environmental Management System. . Know and adhere to all applicable safety rules and procedures. . Ability to perform basic mathematical functions in the calculations for Statistical Process Control (SPC) measurements and charting techniques. . Ability, with proper instruction, to read and understand blueprints. . Ability to perform operations to meet blueprint specifications. . Ability to read and understand written processes and work instructions. . Ability to read and interpret metric measurements.
Primary Functions: . Promptly, at start of shift, review work schedule, check equipment and supplies required to perform the work scheduled, and prepare for operations. . Obtain necessary materials to manufacture products. . Verify safety devices, if applicable, are working properly. . Verify mistake-proofing devices are properly functioning, if applicable, at start of the shift. . Follow all established procedures to produce products (i.e. work instructions, processes, etc.). . Perform required housekeeping duties as required and as necessary. . Must be able to perform and/or learn all job steps to successfully perform the operation. . Complete all required paper work. . Must maintain equipment and tools as needed. . Must report all material shortages to supervisor/s and/or material handlers. . Ability to work in a team environment.
Physical Requirements: . Force Exertion: 10 to 50 lbs. constantly, depending upon operation. Excess of 50 lbs. occasionally in some operations. . Stand: 100% Sit: 0% Walk: Up to 75% . Climbing: Occasional in limited operations. . Lift/Carry: 5 to 60 lbs., depending on operation . Lift bulky items: Occasional to constant (i.e., totes, boxes, etc.) . Static push/pull: Up to 35 lbs. . Grasping Minimum: 10 lbs. . Full range of motion required: Cervical, Shoulders, Elbows, Wrists, Fingers, Hands, Back, Knees, and Feet. . Job Function Cycles (repetitious): 200 to 1500 per shift, depending upon operation . Must pass Pre-employment Physical, Pre-employment Drug Screen. . Working Conditions: 100% Inside, Heat, Cold, Moderate Noise, Moderate Vibration, Moving Mechanical Parts, Chemicals, Height, Dust, Slick Floors, Narrow Access, and Concrete Floors.
Minimum Qualifications: . Must be a US Citizen, or a legal alien. . Must be 18 years of age. . Must have earned a High School Diploma, or a GED. . Must read, write, and communicate in English as it relates to this position and to the safety policies and rules. . Must complete a probationary period. . Must meet the physical requirements for this position. . Must be able to use, or learn to use, the equipment and tools used to perform this job. . Must be able to perform all of the job functions safely. . Must complete a training program and meet the company performance standards for the job. . Must agree to wear the proper personal protective equipment designated for the job. . Must be able to communicate through verbal and written correspondence. . Must be able to cross train on other jobs as required. . Assume additional responsibilities as assigned by supervisors. . Must be able to train co-workers as necessary.
