Assembler - Cable Harness Specialist
Title: Assembler - Cable Harness Specialist Location: Utah-Salt Lake City Position Profile:The Cable Specialist will perform a variety of tasks in development; design and manufacturability of engineering cable products ranging from first time build to test bed functionality. Competencies: * Independently validate and resolve 1sttime build proto-type design requirements,breadboards and test cables from minimum paperwork or oral instructions. * Knowledge in the fabrication of indoor/outdoor cable and harness applications. * Knowledge of wire termination and manual and electric tooling, measurements, mathematics and basic electrical knowledge and soldering wire connections.
Education/Experience: This position requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and two to three years, (2-3) of experience working with cables and test beds used in the new build and support programs for high performance data link systems and products for L-3 Communications. Ability to perform in a team environment with good inter-personal skills is necessary with a commitment to the highest quality achievable. Experience and knowledge of Microsoft Suite and Internet Browsers required. Military or avionics experience would be a plus. Understanding or certification in IPC Workmanship Standard Criteria is also a plus Special Requirements: * Due to the nature of our work this position may require the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense Clearance, including COMSEC. * Must be able to obtain and maintain certifications as required for employment with L-3 Communications. * Position requires the ability to lift 40 lbs. * This position may require overtime, weekend, holiday and /or second shift work. 9/80 work schedule is required until training is completed.
