Area Support Technician
Start your future throp Grumman! Northrop Grumman Information Technology (NGIT) sector is seeking a Network Engineer 2 to join our team in defining the future. This position will be located in Sierra Vista AZ.
This is a full time position reporting to the Network Services Western Region Manager. The candidate should have demonstrated performance in working in a fast paced environment delivering a high degree of quality and customer satisfaction. Flexible hours are required. Also, candidate must possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and good interpersonal skills and a strong willingness to learn. The responsibilities of this position are:
GENERAL Responsibilities:
Provides technical support for computers and associated networks.
Installs, troubleshoots, services, and repairs personal computers, network equipment such as servers, related PC software, telephones, cables, and connectors.
Provides personal computer, hardware, and software support. Installs, services, and repairs personal computers and installs attendant software.
Connects personal computers and terminals to existing data networks.
Maintains network diagrams and circuit records. Maintains trouble logs.
Instructs users in the use of personal computers and networks.
Investigates information, network, and communications needs of users, and makes recommendations regarding software and hardware purchases.
Performs basic PC, PBX, and network software programming.
Provide network engineering support to both Northrop Grumman's corporate network and program specific networks in the Sierra Vista, AZ area
Install and configure Cisco routers, switches and firewalls
Update documentation as required
Meet with customer to understand requirements for new projects.
Basic Qualifications: • Associates or 2 year technical degree in related discipline with a minimum of one year related experience.
• TCP/IP
• MS Windows XP and MS Windows 7
Preferred Qualifications: • Strong written and verbal skills
• Ability to work in fast paced environment
• Knowledge of CISCO hardware for providing touch labor and support
• MS Servers OS
• PBX voice systems or VOIP
