Overview:
The Department of State (DOS), Bureau of Diplomatic Security (DS), Office of Security Technology (ST), Facility Security Engineering Division (FSE), Project Management Engineering Branch (PME) has a requirement for a Contractor to provide technical security installation services for all overseas DOS facilities. The Contractor shall utilize commercial best practices and industry-proven operational techniques to continually improve technical security capabilities and ensure a safe working environment for the Department's conduct of diplomacy. The contractor will be responsible for the design, engineering, and installation of new Technical Security Systems (TSS), upgrades, and lifecycle replacements.

The Contractor shall work seamlessly with the supply chain management (SCM) services contractor and technical support teams to ensure timely and proper installation of all TSS and Technical Security Upgrades (TSU). Each Contractor shall be required to collaborate to create the most effective and efficient support organization for meeting ST goals. In order to ensure that product delivery is coordinated appropriately with the TSU installation, Associate Contractor Agreements (ACA) shall be required. ACAs shall be applicable for any portion of the contract that necessitates joint participation in the accomplishment of the Government's requirement.

Responsibilities:
Under limited supervision, prepares working plans, detailed drawings and complete mechanical or electrical drawings and layouts of components and assemblies such as schematics, interconnect lists, parts breakdowns, wire lists, etc., from notes, verbal instructions and rough or detailed sketches for engineering purposes. May take measurements or make observations of shop or field installations; makes routine engineering computations, prepares specifications, and makes adjustments in drawings and specifications; prepares material lists and engineering orders, change requests, etc. Work involves independent judgment to a limited extent with references generally available. Develops mechanical and electrical drawings in accordance with specifications. Extracts data from technical material to incorporate in drawings. Reviews generated materials and updates drawings as necessary. Uses popular CAD Software.

A professional CAD technician must be able to perform the following tasks:

. Using Autodesk AutoCAD software of at least version 2008.
. Produce to scale architectural drawings representing site plan layouts.
. Produce to scale architectural drawings representing floor plan layouts.
. Produce to scale wall elevation drawings depicting layout of electronic and electrical equipment.
. Produce isometric details of electrical and electronic equipment.
. Produce riser diagrams.
. Produce electrical diagrams and single-line drawings.
. Produce schedules.
. Ability to read, interpret electrical and electromechanical schematics and architectural drawings.
. Communicate effectively with design engineers and other staff.
. Travel extensively worldwide.
Qualifications:
Entry level position with zero to two years of related experience in detail drafting, preferably in the high technology industry with emphasis on electro-mechanical drawing. Candidate shall be trained and proficient in the processes and procedures specific to State Dept. contracts, i.e., Government and DS-approved SOPs, CMMS SOPs, installation operation and maintenance of TSS, and manufacturer training and certification requirements. Candidate shall be certified in accordance with all federal, state and local requirements.
