Description: Position Specific Skills: Preferred candidate to have experience as a Submarine Sonar Technician or Electronics Technician on US Navy ships.
* Must possess submarine experience with an electronic or electrical background.
* Must have qualified SSN688 Class Submarines and troubleshooting experience using Naval Technical Manuals.
* Preference is given to experience gained providing technical and logistic support on US Navy Submarines during new construction or extensive overhaul periods and COW\DOOW qualification.
* Preferred candidate must have experience in MS Office software; prefer experience in HTML/SGML/XML editing systems.
* Candidate must be able to obtain CONFIDENTIAL level clearance. Some travel may be required.
* Candidate will be responsible to prepare and process Manual Change Request (MCR) forms for modifications to Ship System Manuals and Naval Technical Manuals, through government approval and prepare and process manual change packages through publication. Previous experience a plus.
* Responsibilities include researching technical data (drawings, specifications, and vendor source data), preparing text, interfacing with drafter and engineers in support of instructional graphics, and coordinating overall layout and manual organization. Candidate will interface with external and internal clients to resolve impacts caused by design changes. Previous experience a plus.
Essential Job Responsibilities: Prepares specifications from engineering change notices, customer specifications, and/or published data sheets. Maintains customer specifications files; reviews customer drawings and data; translates customer language into standard procedures and product flow.
Knowledge Skills: Extensive knowledge in specialized functions. A wide and comprehensive acquaintance with, and understanding of, both general and specific aspects of the job and their practical application to complex problems and situations ordinarily encountered. Duties & tasks are varied and complex. Serves as a resource to others in the resolution of problems and issues.
Qualifications: High School and 6 years additional education or 6 years relevant experience.
