Aircraft Painter C
The flight line aircraft painter position requires application of decorative paint finishes to the exterior of commercial aircraft. Selected candidates prepare the exterior surfaces of airplanes for painting by cleaning, abrading and/or chemically treating as necessary to prep surfaces. Masking, then applying paints and touch up details are included using spot repair techniques. Some interior (flight deck) painting as well as decal applications and minor vinyl repair are included duties. High Volume Low Pressure (HVLP) and brush touch up processes are methods for paint application as well as some possible airless electrostatic paint application. Employment in this position also requires lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling up to 35 lbs. Also, standing, walking, crawling, crouching, kneeling, and rotation of head and neck are required. Certification and operation of elevated platform/lifting equipment up to 50 feet will be required (e.g., scissor lifts, snorkel lift, high ranger, etc.) Use of applicable safety equipment required. Handling and proper disposal of Hazardous materials, solvents, thinners, paints) required daily per applicable regulations. Application of primers and finishes must meet all identified specifications. 5S practices will be followed (e.g., Clean as you go, proper equipment cleaning, Foreign Object Debris (FOD) prevention, Tool control).

Technical• Color Match
Complete knowledge of color space, color analysis, paint formulation, and paint application techniques to evaluate and match decorative finishes.
• Engr Drawing & Specifications
Complete ability to read, understand, and interpret basic engineering drawings and specifications.
• Organic Chemical Processing
Complete knowledge of organic chemical processes (such as top-coating, priming, surface cleaning).
• Polymers & Composite Materials
Complete knowledge of polymers and composite materials (e.g., carbon, fiberglass, aramid, adhesives, thermoset/thermoplastic resins).
Basic Qualifications For ConsiderationAre you willing to work any shift?

Typical Education/Experience
High school diploma or GED and typically 4 or more years' related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
