AEROSPACE DESIGN ENGINEER ***For consideration, a cover letter is required when applying for this position. Working in our Engineering Department you will: *Manage and engineer new aerospace sheet metal assemblies from inception through shipping. *Design parts, associate manufacturing process; solicit and evaluate quotes; design tooling; write planning; troubleshoot manufacturing process while working with all levels of customers, suppliers, shop and management personnel. *Ensure engineering specification requirements are achieved, the project ships on time, quality requirements are met, and processes used will enable cost objectives to be achieved on a production basis. *Estimate tooling, material and labor to build assigned product per customer specifications. *Manage project within both internal and external deadlines and changing time constraints. *Ensure designs are "lean" and state-of-the-art in terms of technology, efficiency of manufacture, and cost effectiveness. *Ensure all process and development issues are resolved prior to turning over to manufacturing for production. *Provide on-going periodic maintenance and technical assistance or problem solving as required. *Travel may be required. *Education Requirements; Engineering degree, preferably mechanical or aerospace engineering, demonstrated project management skills and in-depth knowledge of sheet metal manufacturing. *Preference given to candidates with 7+ years relevant experience Successful candidates will exhibit the following attributes *Possess proactive, positive attitude and represent the company effectively in all situations *Work effectively with all levels within the organization to resolve conflicting priorities and obtain cooperation to expediently achieve company goals *Be tenacious, goal-oriented, and take the initiative as warranted while demonstrating sound judgment with business and people issues *Demonstrate a strong sense of accountability and responsibility as well as a commitment to company values and the organization *Adapt easily to changing environment *Be technically astute *Exhibit a strong sense of urgency and self motivation with an action-oriented bias
