Advanced Powertrain Industrial Engineering Specialist
The Advanced Powertrain Industrial Engineering Specialist is responsible for working with Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (AME), Industrial Engineering, and the manufacturing plants to develop efficient manufacturing processes and manpower. This position will develop direct labor, indirect labor, salary and BWS estimates. In addition, this position evaluates design for manufacturing, sourcing decisions and manufacturing systems. The Advanced Powertrain Industrial Engineering Specialist will integrate all aspects of World Class Manufacturing (WCM) including non-/value added analysis, workstation optimization, and waste elimination. This position will work with AME on new model assumptions and simulation development as well as work with material handling organization to develop factory flow analysis and a plan for every part.
Basic Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree
• 5 years of powertrain experience in a manufacturing environment required
• Demonstrated ability to perform time and motion studies, develop standardized work and estimate manpower requirements
• Must understand powertrain manufacturing systems and have demonstrated the ability to apply throughput management process techniques, develop simulations and assess equipment capacity
• Previous supervisor or managerial experience
• Data collection, root cause analysis and practical problem solving skills are essential
• Understanding of lean manufacturing and World Class Manufacturing (WCM) principles necessary
Preferred Qualifications: • Bachelor degree in Industrial Engineering preferred
• Advanced degree desirable
• MODAPTS certification
• Witness simulation experience is preferred
• Proficient in MS Office applications
• Capable of preparing documents and presentations for all levels of management
