Works under general guidance to perform set up, assembly, calibration, test and inspection operations on electronics and electro-mechanical related antenna products. Follows instructions obtained from production work orders, drawings, policies and procedures. ? Performs assembly, calibration, and alignment of small antenna products. ? Performs assembly, calibration and product inspection operations on electronics related antenna subcomponents. ? Performs set up and tests of antenna systems and system subcomponents. ? Identifies and reports material discrepancies to supervisor. ? Provides training in assembling, calibrating, setting up, testing and inspecting electronics related antenna products. ? Performs site installations, repairs, testing and customer training. ? Performs other related duties as assigned by management. ? Keeps workbenches, machinery, tools, equipment and work area clean and safe. ? Reports time spent performing direct and indirect work in accordance with current labor reporting procedures. ? Provides inputs to improve products and manufacturing techniques. ? Assists in troubleshooting problems relating to product performance and workflow. ? Basic computer operations. ? Moves materials by hand, with a fork truck, pallet jack, overhead crane and 2-wheel dolly. Machines and Equipment Involved: ? Volt, ohm and/or amp meter (multimeter). ? Spectrum analyzer, up/down converter, power supplies, signal generator, and other electronics equipment relating to tests and test set up. ? Specialized tooling for assembling cables. ? Standard electrician's hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, hammers, knock-out punches, etc. ? Mechanical, electrical and air-powered tools such as drills, impact wrenches, grinders, sanders, soldering equipment, heat guns, saws, presses, etc. ? Fork truck, pallet jack, 2-wheel dolly, overhead crane. ? Simple mechanical measuring tools. ? Cleaning liquids such as alcohol and soap solutions. ? Safety glasses, gloves, face shields, safety shoes. ? Computer. Specific Knowledge ? High school graduate or equivalent. ? Two years of experience in a electro-mechanical repair or assembly environment. ? Two years minimum experience in basic controller integration to include jog, step and opt-track control systems. ? Completion of a basic cable fabrication and soldering certificate program ? Basic electronic/electrical theory. ? Ability to interpret drawings, wiring diagrams, work orders, performance specifications and test plans, and apply them to work operations. ? Ability to operate various test measurement and diagnostics equipment ? Basic electro-mechanical aptitude. ? Efficient and courteous interaction with co-workers, representatives from other departments, customers and suppliers, as discussed above. ? High level of dependability with minimal direct supervision. ? Complies with SATCOM and departmental policies, procedures and regulations. ? Works during scheduled hours. ?
