(IV) Principal Software Engineer
Title: (IV) Principal Software Engineer Location: USA-California-Point Mugu Other Locations: Performs functional applications analysis, designs specifications for functional activities, which generally include operating systems, software applications, and/or network products, to meet customer requirements. Develops tools, determines capability requirements and, influences product design. Tests, debugs, and refines computer software to produce the required product. Prepares required documentation, including both program and user-level. Identifies opportunities for systems improvement, focusing on capabilities and future efforts.
L-3 Corporation, Command & Control Systems and Software, Tactics and Engineering Branch, has a contingient opportunity for a Software Engineer. The position requires significant design, code, test, integration and software development support. This position will service the engineering enterprise of an established Navy technical program in the Point Mugu, CA., area. Previous military experience is a plus. Qualified applicants will have a Bachelor's Degree in computer science or an equivalent software engineering field. Additionally, the candidate will have software development experience equal to 4 years. The candidate must demonstrate proficiency with coding tools; Visual Studio 6.0/Visual Basic, C, C , C#, .NET, and SQL/SQL Server. The candidate must demonstrate knowledge of design tools and techniques, Configuration Management and be adaptable to a mature software process management organization. Candidates will have a proven performance record as an innovative problem-solver with the ability to communication his ideas in verbal, written and chart/graphic forms. Participation in sponsored systems engineering support teams, IPTs, external development/design teams is anticipated of all candidates.
